Annual National Cycling Conference 2016

One of EMPOWER’s chosen Take Up Cities, Odense, will be playing host to the annual national cycling conference on 31st May – 1st June. Odense was awarded Cycling city of the year last year, and the national cycling conference is arranged by the Danish Road Directory and the Danish Cyclists’ Federation. The conference hosts up to 200 participants every year, with participants including traffic planners from national and municipality level, consultants, researchers, representatives from NGOs as well as Communicators and nudging experts. Furthermore, the conference is opened by the Minister for Transport and Building and the deputy mayor of Odense.

The aim of the conference is to exchange best practice examples within cycling – from cycling infrastructure to policy level and promotion of cycling/campaigns.

The conference is a combination of panel debates, presentations, workshops, guided cycle tours to look at cycling infrastructure in the City of Odense and urban development areas.
